Some of the most challenging spaces to design are small kitchens. Designing a smaller kitchen requires careful consideration of function and flow – every inch counts! The design maximized every inch of space using custom cabinetry with creative storage solutions. Utilizing the high ceiling height – the upper cabinets reached the ceiling taking full advantage of the vertical space in the kitchen. By reconfiguring the kitchen’s cabinetry layout, we were able to give the family a much-needed dishwasher, even if it were compact. By framing-in the original doorway to the living room, it allowed for the refrigerator to be tucked out of the way and allowed for more cabinetry. The design also relocated the sink to the face the backyard. The space has a contemporary vibe complete with dark granite counters, linear glass mosaic backsplash and Crate & Barrel pendants.
