Cleveland Heights Modern Kitchen Remodel

This historic Cleveland Heights home underwent a major renovation, as the kitchen remodel completely reworked the existing space into a functional, modern kitchen fit for 2015.  Much of the original kitchen was underutilized, as the counter space was lacking and the room was poorly laid out.  The new kitchen design features a large, open kitchen that easily flows into the adjacent butler’s pantry and combined laundry/mud room.  The style and characteristics of the updated space seamlessly integrates with the rest of the home.

The new kitchen design features custom cabinetry, a large island and plenty of counter space, providing ample room for meal prep and entertaining.

The oversized kitchen island is a beautiful focal point, which accommodates space for a prep sink, microwave, and seating.

The unique quartzite countertops and Feiss light fixtures add distinctive character to the kitchen. The black leathered granite and white cabinetry along the perimeter of the room is offset by the one-of-a-kind quartzite and quarter-sawn oak island. The island base was specifically built to match the original quarter-sawn oak hardwood floors throughout the home.

Additional kitchen storage is conveniently located on the opposite side of the island in custom built floor to ceiling cabinetry, including a corkboard and landing station for electronics, etc.

The black leathered granite countertops are brightened by the cast iron farm sink and ample natural light flooding in from the new windows.

The main kitchen area leads into the laundry and mudroom.

A custom-cut mirrored backsplash makes the small space appear larger, and the quartzite counter and stained cabinets coordinate with the kitchen island.

The butler’s pantry was opened to the dining room, with storage for glassware, barware and serving dishes – making it convenient for entertaining.

The original butler’s pantry was updated with new custom cabinetry, hammered bar sink, and beverage refrigerator.

The light filled laundry and mudroom room includes bench seating, additional storage space and a utility sink.

A side-by-side washer and dryer left room for counter space and supplementary storage. The same porcelain floor tile and black granite from the kitchen were used to keep the two spaces cohesive.
