Complete rebuild of this second floor rear porch in Cleveland Heights. The original porch was deemed unsafe and the homeowners were left with no choice but to tear it down and start over. The original porch looked similar to the new one, but without footers and joist anchors to support the vertical posts shown. There is an existing deck below the porch and that created an obstacle. Not a problem. Expert carpenters at The Beard Group are always up for the challenge. Sections of the deck were removed so the posts could continue beneath the lower deck to achieve proper anchoring and support for the porch. The top of the porch was installed like a roof to keep water from deteriorating the tongue and groove ceiling below. Simple, sturdy and appropriate for the home.
