Kitchen Remodeling Shaker Heights

Multiple rooms were altered in this Shaker Heights colonial to create a light-filled kitchen, mudroom and library.  The former kitchen was converted into a mudroom/laundry area, accessible from the garage and back door.  What was the formal dining room, is now an open-plan kitchen with an oversized island, eat-in area and large walk-in pantry. French doors now lead from the kitchen to the homeowners’ new office space.  The new formal dining room is now housed in the former office, complete with original wood paneling.  The remodeled spaces provide plenty of room for both entertaining and meal prep.  A new, thoughtful layout of the first floor, complete with beautifully designed floor to ceiling cabinetry, a one-of-a-kind floating breakfast table, along with timeless finishes make a truly customized family home.

The kitchen features a large island with sink. The dark perimeter countertops contrast with the light island stone. Plenty of storage for a growing family.

This custom Shaker Heights kitchen was formerly a dining room. This project was a total layout change for the first floor. Dimmable recessed lighting provides ample lighting for the large space.

The end of the island features a floating table with custom steel fabrication and rounded tempered glass. A nice natural light filled space to enjoy a home cooked meal

The customer calls this room her cozy room. It is just off the kitchen and is a space to read and relax. Custom bookshelves with a floating desk constructed from tempered glass line the back wall. This room was formerly the breakfast room off of the old kitchen.

A 36 inch Miele cooktop, under cabinet lighting and an oversized hood ensure a comfortable cooking space.

The mud room, formerly the kitchen, has custom cabinets and an extra sink. With kids in sports, the extra sink comes in handy for those muddy football games. Flooring is slate on a herringbone pattern with a contrasting grout color.

The mud room is right off the rear of the home with a new Pella rear entry door.
