Shaker Heights Master Bath Remodel

This Shaker Heights master bath was an extension of the Shaker Heights Dream kitchen renovation.  The bathroom mixes creative design solutions and functionality to produce a beautiful retreat in a modestly sized space.  The original space was designed as a jack-and-jill bathroom.  In order to use the space effectively, The Beard Group design team removed the door into the adjacent office to make room for a double vanity.  Making use of an awkward corner space and being mindful of the large span of original leaded-glass windows, the shower design became a task within itself.  In order to create a spacious shower, the shape of the shower was custom built to fit into the original tub area.  Contemporary fixtures and color scheme add a transitional twist to an otherwise traditional home.

The vanity features dark stained custom cabinets, his and hers sinks with a Calacatta marble countertop, and built-in shelving for additional storage.

The shower incorporates many luxurious features such as a rain shower head, Gris Foussana limestone tile and brushed nickel shower fixtures.

A custom-cut glass shower enclosure makes the shower appear larger while the stone and glass mosaic tile and Calacatta marble accents brighten the space.

The placement of the custom bench is a good use of corner space in the shower, while the built in niche provides space to store shampoo bottles with an extra shelf for soap.

The elegant brushed nickel shower fixtures brighten the shower.

Dark stained wood cabinetry with brushed nickel cabinet hardware brings natural warmth to the master bath.

The 1x1 Gris Foussana limestone mosaic tile on the shower floor coordinates with the honed 12x12 Gris Foussana Limestone tile on the walls.

Brushed nickel faucets, stone and glass accent tile, and a Calacatta marble countertop draws attention to the custom vanity.

For additional storage, a vanity tower sits atop the counters.

The original lead-glass windows fill the modestly sized bathroom with natural light, making the master bath feel bright and spacious.
